These finishes are either an anodized or powder coated finish applied to the surface of the hardware rather than an intrinsic color of the metal, and with the metal-on-metal connection point of the corner rings and carabiners they are subject to more friction/wear which can chip/wear out the finish faster than our standard leather gear. The hardware is still covered in case of mechanical failure)
